Final Cut Pro

FR: Bonjour!

Yesterday, we had a class called "Final Cut Pro, Advanced #1". I have only one word to describe that class: OUAH!!! It's unbelievable what you can do with that software.

FR: Hier, nous avons eu un cours nomme "Final Cut Pro, Advance #1". Je n'ai qu'un mot a dire pour decrire ce cours: OUAH!!! C'est incroyable tout ce que l'on peut faire avec ce programme.

Now, I'm really in the heart of what I want to learn, which is Editing. And tomorrow, we're gonna have our second class of Final Cut Pro Advanced and then edit our 8 week film all the rest of the day, for something like 8 hours. Orgasmic!

FR: Maintenant, je suis vraiment au coeur de ce que je veux apprendre, le Montage. Et demain, on va avoir notre deuxieme cours de Final Cut Pro Advanced et ensuite, nous allons faire le montage de notre dernier film le reste de la journee, ce qui fait environ 8 heures de montage. Orgasmique!

The end of the editing of that film will take place this weekend. Two days of editing, that's almost my dream :-)

FR: La fin du montage de ce film se fera ce weekend. Deux jours de montage, c'est limite mon reve :-)

My Crew

Hi!
FR: Hello!

A couple of words about my amazing crew I've worked with the first quarter. Unfortunately, we're not gonna work together in the second quarter because our teachers wants us to work with everybody.

FR: Quelques mots sur l'excellent groupe avec lequel j'ai travaille le premier trimestre. Malheureusement, on ne va pas travailler ensembles le second trimestre parce que les profs veulent qu'on travaille avec tout le monde.

We had a lot of fun together and it was amazing how much we could trust each other. If Kim from Oklahoma or Jose from Spain was DP (Director of Photography) or AC (Assistant Camera), the camera was always ready and I could spend my time with the actors and that's the way it works. If one of them said "I got the shot", then just go to the next one.

FR: On s'est beaucoup amuse ensemble et c'etait vraiment incroyable combien on pouvait se faire confiance. Si Kim d'Oklahoma ou Jose d'Espagne etaient DP (Directeur de la Photographie) ou AC (Assistant Camera), la camera etait toujours prete et je pouvais passer tout mon temps avec les acteurs, et c'est comme ca que ca doit marcher. Si l'un d'eux dit "C'est bon, j'ai eu le shot", on passe simplement au suivant.

We spent a lot of time together the weekends on the shoots and also outside. We went out thousands of time and we had always a great time. We're still going out but we don't work together anymore. We'll see what's the future will be with the new crew.

FR: On a passe beaucoup de temps ensembles les weekends pendant les tournages mais egalement en sortie. On est sorti des milliers de fois et on s'est toujours bien marre. On sort toujours a L.A. mais on ne travaille plus ensemble. On verra bien ce que le futur me reserve avec les nouveaux.

8 Week Film

We're done with our 8 week film project. It was very interesting and intense. Now, we're tired but happy.

FR: Ca y est, c'est fait. Notre film de la 8eme semaine est termine. C'etait super interessant et intense. A present, nous some creves, mais contents.

Next week, we're going to edit the movie we just shooted during the last 6 days.

FR: La semaine prochaine, nous allons faire le montage des films que nous venons de tourner durant les 6 derniers jours.

I went to Props and Wardrobe of Universal Sutios. As students, we have a 50 % discount on all their staff. Just think about something, they have it. I got guns (faked, of course), I got police badges, E-VE-RY-THING !

FR: Je suis alle dans un departement de Universal Studios ou on peut louer des objets genre pistolets, etc... En tant qu'etudiants, nous avons un rabais de 50 % sur tout leurs objets. Pensez a n'importe quoi, ils ont. J'ai pris des flingues (des faux, bien sur), des badges de polices, ILS ONT TOUT !

Actors are amazing!

FR: Hello!

While I was shooting my 8 week film, I was really impressed by my actors. Every week I have very nice surprises, and I love that.

After the incredible "Because of You" experience, I have now the unbelievable experience of my short film "Murder of Passion". With only a few rehearsals, the actors made the film. They came with their own ideas, props and wardrobe.

I have to admit that I almost cried again. They are in their role, they live it 100% and it's better than everything I could expect from them. Amazing, actors are just amazing!

FR: Quand je tournais mon projet de la 8eme semaine, j'etais vraiment tres impressionne par mes acteurs. Chaque semaine j'ai de tres bonnes surprises et j'avoue que j'adore ca.

FR: Apres l'incroyable experience de "Because of You", j'ai vecu a present l'hallucinante experience de mon court metrage "Meurtre Passionnel". Avec seulement quelques repetitions, les acteurs font le film. Ils viennent avec leur propres idees, garde-robe, etc...)

FR: Je dois admettre que j'ai presque pleurer a nouveau. Ils sont dans leur role, ils vivent leur role a 100% et c'est mieux que tout ce que je pouvais leur demander. Hallucinant, les acteurs sont simplement hallucinants!

I can't explain in which scene I almost cried, but she lived it and the feelings she had were true. She was sad, she was angry, upset, and I was just... OUAH !!!

FR: Je peux pas expliquer dans quelle scene j'ai presque pleurer, mais elle a vecu le truc and les sentiments etaient vrais. Elle etait triste, elle etait enervee, fache et moi j'etais simplement... OUAH !!!

That's it, I wanted to say how impressed I am by the actors.
FR: Voila, je voulais juste dire a quel point je suis impressionne par les acteurs.

4th and 5th week

Hi guys!
FR: Salut a tous!

I don't have many things to tell you about my 4th week, you already know everything. The editing of the music video "Because of You" and the screening of that film on the Hollywood Boulevard were part of it. One of my most amazing week ever.

FR: Je n'ai pas grand chose a dire sur ma 4eme semaine, vous savez deja tout. Le montage du clip musical "Because of You" et la projection de ce film sur Hollywood Boulevard, c'etait ma 4eme semaine. Une semaine des plus incroyable.

No shooting the 4th week but a lot of preproduction work for our 8 week film. The beginning of the 5th week was also planned for preproduction work on the 8 week film (script, shot/cut list, casting, storyboards,...). And from the end of week 5 to the end of week 6, we're going to shoot 4 short films, one per director. 2 days of shooting for each director. Actually, mine is done and I'm really happy for that. The pressure is gone. But I can't wait to edit it. Anyway, I still have almost 10 days to wait.

FR: Pas de tournage la 4eme semaine mais beaucoup de travail de preproduction pour le film du premier trimestre (8 semaines). Le debut de la 5eme semaine etait aussi de la preproduction pour le film du premier trimestre (ecrire le script, faire la liste de tournage/montage, caster les acteurs, dessiner les storyboards,...). And des la fin de la 5eme semaine jusqu'a la fin de la 6 eme, on va touner 4 court metrages, soit un par directeur qui ont chacun 2 jours a dispotion pour tourner. Pour moi, c'est fait et j'en suis ravi, la pression n'est plus sur mes epaules. Je n'ai qu'une envie, c'est de faire le montage, malheureusement, je dois encore attendre une dizaine de jour.

FR: Salut a tous!

Saturday night was an amazing night even if it was also a little bit sad, because a couple of students (4 week acting) left the school.

FR: Samedi soir etait absolument grandiose, meme si c'etait un peu triste de voir partir certains etudiants (4 semaines acteurs) qui ont finit leur programme.

My name appeared for the first time on a big screen. My film Because of You was screened on Hollywood Boulevard in the Egyptian Theater. On the picture, you can see the 2 stars who acted in my short music video. Katie and Reto. They were just amazing!

FR: Mon nom est apparu pour la premiere fois sur un ecran de cinema. Mon film Because of You a ete projete sur Hollywood Boulevard dans l'Egyptian Theater. Sur la photo, vous pouvez voir les 2 stars qui ont joue dans le clip musical. Katie et Reto. Ils etaient simplement incroyable!

Special thanks to Katie who allowed me to see my name on the big screen for the first time.

FR: Un merci tout particulier a Katie qui m'a permis de voir mon nom sur le grand ecran pour la premiere fois.

Because Of You

Hi everybody!
FR: Bonjour a tous!

A short message to say that the editing of my music video was great and I loved doing it. It worked perfectly with the song I chose, which was "Because of You" from Kelly Clarkson.

FR: Un petit message pour dire que le montage de mon film musical etait tres bien et j'ai adore le faire. Ca marchait merveilleusement avec la chanson que j'avais choisie, soit "Because of You" de Kelly Clarkson.

I screened the short film at school for the 2 main actors and they loved it. That film was also screened for the last day of the 4 week acting program. Almost 10 films were screened on Saturday night.

FR: J'ai projete le film a l'ecole pour les 2 acteurs principaux qui l'ont bien aime. Ce film a egalement ete projete pour le dernier jour des acteurs du programme de 4 semaines. Environ 10 films ont ete projete samedi soir.

I was really sad to let all these 4 week actors leave. But that's the way it is. I wait for their "come back" soon.

FR: J'etais vraiment triste de laisser partir tout ces acteurs du cours de 4 semaines. Mais bon, c'est comme ca. J'attends qu'ils reviennent prochainement.

During the week, I'll post a couple of pictures of Saturday night and I'll explain you how and where it was and how I felt it.

FR: Durant la semaine, je vais mettre des photos de samedi soir sur le web et je vous expliquerai comment et ou etait la projection de samedi et comment je me sentais.
